MTG is launching a new TWINMET retrofit locking that is especially designed for extreme heavy-duty applications of cast lip mining excavators of >450 t.

The new HD retrofit locking is a dual action pin that is compatible with the TWINMET retrofit intermediate adapters in size 30 that are suitable for ESCO* S130 and Hensley* XS640 noses. With its one-piece body, the pin is very resistant with maximum reliability. Field tests have proven the locking’s robustness and demonstrated high durability even in extreme digging conditions.

In contrast to MTG’s regular retrofit locking solution that consists of a pin, sleeve and retainer, the HD retrofit locking is a single reference which facilitates purchasing and stock management. Furthermore, only a regular size 14 Allen key is needed and the pin can be locked / unlocked from both sides. Without needing a specific orientation and by activating both shafts from just one side, its handling is very quick and easy for both left and right-handed people.
