MTG had a busy start to 2019, as the majority of the events for the year were held in the first few months. As is customary, we supported our distributors throughout the world in this respect. On this occasion, the events we have attended have been held in: Switzerland, the United States, South Africa and China.

Our distributor Ullmann attended the Baumag trade fair, which was held between the 7th and the 10th of February in Lucerne, Switzerland. The event, which celebrated its 19th edition, is mainly aimed at construction industry professionals, and this year it was centred around the concept of “digital building works”. Baumag is one of Switzerland’s main events for manufacturers and concessionaires of construction machinery, construction and lifting equipment, and others.

MTG also collaborated with distributor TMS in the 25th anniversary edition of Mining Indaba, held between the 4th and the 7th of February in Cape Town, South Africa. Mining Indaba is one of the main forums for the mining industry, and this year it welcomed more than 6,000 participants, including widespread government representation and talks by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and his counterpart in Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Additionally, between the 4th and the 7th of February, we also attended the AED Summit event in Orlando, USA, which was organised by the Associated Equipment Distributors association. The summit is aimed at mining sector equipment distributors, manufacturers and service providers. It represents the perfect venue for encouraging networking and attending educational seminars. As well as sponsoring the event, MTG had a hospitality suite, where we were able to welcome current and potential future distributors of our products.

At the end of April, we also attended WODCON XXII in Shanghai, China, which is the most important international dredging event, organised on this occasion by the Eastern Dredging Association (EADA) in collaboration with the World Organisation of Dredging Associations (WODA). The event is held once every three years and brings together the entire dredging community, as well as the world’s leading experts in the industry. This year, the focus was on ecology and sustainability, and the seminars were centred around this issue. MTG had a booth at the event to present its in-house manufactured cutterheads, providing an outstanding opportunity for making contacts from all 5 continents, all of whom expressed much interest in our solutions for cutter suction dredgers, hopper dredgers, clamshells and backhoe dredgers.
