The COMET tooth system is MTG’s latest development for the light construction market that has been launched at the bauma show 2022. As a fully hammerless system for small construction machines, it is one of its kind and will be a significant upgrade compared to KINGMET system and other solutions in the market.

The key advantage of COMET is its innovative locking system that is fully hammerless and that can be accessed completely from the top. It provides quick, safe, and easy tooth change-outs in only two assembly steps. The curved pin with integrated flap retention can even be inserted by hand and provides a click-sound as installation confirmation. Its disassembly is equally hammerless and easy in two steps, and it only requires a regular flat screwdriver: first unlocking the flap retention and then levering out the pin.

Additionally, COMET also offers optimized wear resistance, increased stability, and reversible teeth for maximum reliability and longer wear life. The new fitting design provides 30% larger contact areas providing more tooth-adapter stability, reducing plastic deformation while the entire kit design better protects the adapter, locking and welding seams from material flow.

A range of tooth and adapter designs will be available in sizes 5, 8, 10 and 15 that are especially dedicated for all types of digging applications of excavators <15 t, mini loaders and backhoe loaders.
