At the end of April, MTG participated of the XV edition of Expomin, Latin America’s mining sector fair of reference. Expomin was a great success in terms of attendees and featured almost 1,300 stands, which has made it one the events of reference for the Latin American mining sector; it focuses on the transfer of knowledge and experiences and on offering technologies that contribute towards innovation and increased productivity in mining processes.

This year, MTG opted for a stand featuring a modern, fresh design that was located near the central corridor and that had good visibility. MTG presented its range of mining products through a number of displays, among which was the Heavy Duty adapter for Whisler-type lips, featuring the innovative Ratchet hammerless locking system. Also shown were the 3-part, welded nose TwinMet System, intermediate and end adapter for hydraulic excavators weighing more than 400 tonnes, as well as a blade featuring the Starmet and Promet systems for front-loaders.

Chile’s importance in the international mining sector

MTG has an important presence in Chile in collaboration with its official distributor for the region, MINETEC, whose technical team members provided support at the stand for the duration of the fair. Chile represents one of the most important markets for MTG as number one producer in terms of copper mining¹.

Expomin is one of the mining sector’s main events in Latin America, as well as an important meeting point for the mining sector throughout the world. Inaugurated in 1990, it is held biannually and represents a space for interaction among suppliers, professionals and executives representing the mining industry’s entire value chain.
