MTG, with headquarters in Barcelona, Spain and Houston, Texas, announces the beginning of the testing period of its new plant in Monzon, Spain. The plant is foreseen to be fully operative on the first quarter of 2013.

The plant has been specifically oriented to expand the company’s mining product range and towards new markets, especially targeting emerging countries. The new plant is equipped with the most innovative technological equipment in smelting manufacturing and will increase the annual production of wear parts: teeth, adapters and shrouds for construction and mining machines.

The foreseen initial production is 10,000 tons with the possibility of increasing significantly its capacity in the future. MTG will continue to own its existing plant in Premia de Mar, Barcelona. With both plants, MTG collaborates in the revitalization of the Monzon industry, creating new employment opportunities in the area in 2012.
